As library budgets tighten year after year libraries are forced to be creative with how to manage their daily activities as well as their technology instruction, collection development process, and programming efforts. 

In this session, we will discuss how the Campbell County Public Library System’s Public Services Librarians manage the main and branch libraries while also providing valuable services to their patrons through reference, technology assistance, outreach, collection development, and programming.

Attendees will:

  • Develop a functional understanding of the duties of the Public Services Librarian
  • Learn about the benefits, and difficulties, of the PSL position
  • Learn best practices in time management to be successful in a PSL position
